About Cenote Azul
Cenote Azul is situated at 15 miles from Playa del Carmen to south. It is a freshwater swimming hole which provides a pleasant way to enjoy just a few hours or a whole day.
The water is clear to such an extent that you can see smaller fish from land and catfish, but many people prefer to explore a little closer do and snorkeling.
The daring visitors prefer to dive off the 15 foot "cliff" or to create a splash by leaping. For the more apprehensive or kids, steps are there which lead to the cenote and also a rope allows you to hang on should you require a pause from swimming.

I love the Cenotes. They are spread all over Mayan Mexico; Cenote azul is a great one. The amazing clear crystalline water, fresh and in the middle of a luxuriant forest. Here you spend a wonderful day. There are some fishes in the cenote. You can snorkel in the cenote Azul and do animal seeing in the forest around, do some hiking. Cenotes are just perfects and small paradise areas. I recommend if you have a car drive around the peninsula and find other beautiful not so known Cenotes. At weekends is more crowded, if you want more ‘private’ go on week days! Just a good place

I like sea more than some lakes or rivers. I think it is obvious why. However my husband and I decided to visit Cenote Azul. I liked it. In some cases it is even better than sea:) It is fresher and thanks to the surrounding nature (trees, rocks, a lot of green) there is no heat. There is some fish in the water. Near the cenote Azul there are rocks of different height from which you can jump to the water. There aren't so many entertainments as in other cenotes but the entrance fee is low, only 70 pesos. Nice place to stay in a hot day!

Azul cenote is really great place, water so clean, clear and refreshing, but I would recommend go there on a week days, not on a family Sundays.
