In the year 2002, an engineer, Don Francisco Caamaño launched his project and up to date, Cozumel Pearl Farm despite all the obstacles has been the only existing one in the Caribbean. He saw that the farm will need a firm anchorage and thus with his son, Pancho also an engineer, they made the dream a reality. The family marine biologist known as Isabel was also of great help since she took a beneficial trip for some pearl farms in the south pacific. She brought the information on pearl farming as well as its seeding. Their friend too helped in the project where he just came to share his ideas. He came each day for the guests, sharing his pieces of paradise. To date, Cozumel Pearl Farm stands tall, attracting even the family dog Gaia- a great swimmer. It also provides great company to the visitors to the pearl farm.
