About Akumal Beach
‘Akumal’ stands for ‘place for turtles’. Akumal is located on the Riviera Maya, between Playa del Carmen and Tulum, around 60 miles south of Cancun.
Sea turtles come ashore in every summer season to lay eggs in the white sand beachfront and four sparklng bays, which is three miles wide. The offshore is an enchanting reef system ideal for snorkelers who wish to experience the underwater beauty of the area.
